Stantonbury Leisure Centre is looking to recruit a Operations Manager to join our team!
The post-holder will support the Centre Manager in enabling all partners to make best use of the facilities and activities offered by the service. The post-holder will be responsible for the health and safety, management of contractors and maintenance, quality assurance, sports development and children activities.
The post holder will be required to work a range of shift patterns with attendance during evenings and weekends when facilities are open to the public. Occasional unsocial hours for call outs or late-finishing events.
Role Summary:
- Comply with current centre policies and procedures for members, guests and staff, including Safeguarding, GDPR, Fire & Health & Safety.
- To deliver a high quality service for customers.
- To ensure the proper use of the pools and other sports facilities. To patrol the poolside, changing areas and public areas ensuring that facilities are used in an approved manner and to apply correct procedures.
- To be responsible for the health and safety of the facilities, including the application of approved lifesaving techniques, use of resuscitation equipment and first aid procedures and equipment where necessary.
- To ensure that all public areas are constantly maintained to a high standard of cleanliness following cleaning schedules and carrying out remedial, non-routine cleaning where necessary.
- To prepare the facilities for all programmed and special events, both during campus time and community use time.
- To ensure that all equipment is maintained in a clean and usable condition at all times and to report defects to senior staff as necessary in line with operating procedures.
- To advise customers on the use of facilities and to offer a high standard of customer care and to respond to complaints from customers in accordance with operating procedures.
- To carry out pool water tests and basic plant operation, in accordance with operating procedures.
- To ensure that personal lifesaving and first aid qualifications are kept up to date and fitness levels are maintained in order to work effectively at all times.
- To carry out duties at all times as specified in the centre’s normal operating procedures and emergency action plans.
- To cover duties of other staff as required maintaining a full service to customers
- To carry out coaching duties where suitably experienced and / or qualified
- To deputise for the Duty Manager in times of their absence, ensuring the safety and security of the building and those within it.
- To actively supervise the Operations Assistants to ensure all work tasks are carried out to the standards expected and that all policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Such other duties as may from time to time be necessary, compatible with the nature of the post.
